The Hills are Alive in Banff and the Rockies!

As the Two Jack Lake & Rundle shot illustrates - the summer season is underway in Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies. Smoke drifting across the lake from campfires, the smooth lake echoing the call of loons, and the magical summer evening Alpin Glow decorating the peaks.

The lakes in the frontcountry are all open - Minnewanka, Two Jack, Vermillion, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake and Consolation Lake. The backcountry lakes are opening up as well -  as Summer settles in all over the Canadian Rockies.Milder weather opens up the trails as well, back country and frontcountry - as the snow recedes and melts away. This is the most popular time to get and hike on the trails - short walks, day hikes and overnighters, backpacking extended trips are all become available.
